SETTING
Simple and Clean takes place an unspecified amount of time after the end of Dream Drop Distance. For the sake of simplicity, let's say roughly two years. Long enough for the good guys to have begun to truly train and amass their strength together, and enough time for Xehanort to've put his Hail Mary gambit in play to remove their memories. Because of this, for all intents and purposes, this site is a canon site where canon events have occurred.
The 'twist' is that none of the canon characters have any memories of them happening. As far as they're concerned, that just... isn't what happened. More detail is given in the canon guides, but the long and short of it is that their memories have them convinced that they grew up as ordinary people living ordinary lives. The connections in their hearts and memories to one another were left untouched, but they filled in those gaps by coming up with their own explanation for why they feel what they feel for each other.
When Namine altered Sora's memory - and through him, the memories of everyone who knew him - she hadn't actually removed the 'chains' of his memories. She had simply taken apart the connections before inserting new ones. What Xehanort has done is remove them entirely, meaning that while they can learn about what they truly did in their past, they cannot remember it without getting those memory links back. Specifically, any event that involve the keyblades, the worlds, the princesses of heart, or kingdom hearts was removed.
Original characters can and will be important, but canon characters will be vital to the start of the roleplay. This is why playing a canon is a requirement if you would like to play more than one character.
The story will start in Utopia, a world that was created when the Radiant Garden, Twilight Town, and Destiny Islands were merged back into a singular world.
