When Ventus was delivered to the Land of Departure by his 'Master', Xehanort, he didn't realize that he was meeting the two greatest friends (really, his family) he could ever ask for. The apprentices of Master Eraqus embraced him with open arms and helped to break him out of the silence he had fallen into. And for ten years, he was the happiest he could ever remember being.

This was ruined when Aqua and Terra both took their Mark of Mastery exams and while Aqua passed, Terra was deemed to have failed.

Over the course of three days Ventus learned part of the truth of his origins, over just why he had been brought to Eraqus in the first place, and he begged both Terra and Aqua to kill him in order to prevent his reuninion with Vanitus and the formation of the X-blade. Neither could do so, and neither could prevent that from happening. What Aqua could do, though, was save him by placing his body in a safe place where no one could find him until she returned, and his heart in the sanctuary of another.

He has awoken now, but he believes himself to be the twin of Roxas and the result of an affair between Cloud and Aerith. He lives in Twilight Town with both Aqua and Terra.

Riku currently has no combat abilities or magic spells. He has no weapons, though he has athletically inclined.
