Lea grew up in what people simply called the ‘bad parts’ of Shibuya City. He was never the academic type and always found himself in trouble at school. He had quite the sense of humour, and continuously tried to make others laugh by playing pranks on the teachers. Although, he always tended to get himself in to situations that not many people in this would like to be in.

After graduating high school with decent grades (Straight Bs mostly) he found himself once again in a terrible situation. He was in massive debt to some of the local gang members in the city. He got them to loan him some money when he was in a hard time and he was not in the position to be giving up any money he currently had. To escape the members of the gang, he found himself hiding out in Twilight Town where he shared an apartment with your average working joe he met sleeping on a lobby couch in a hotel room. He wasn’t much, but he helped pay the rent.

Lea:

Lea grew up in Radient Gardens with his best friend Isa. His first interaction with the keyblade was when he Ventus was passing through the Gardens and became friends with the two boys. Saying that they would see each other again one day.

The two young boys were seen being thrown out of Dilan before going to buy sea salt ice cream together.
[break][break]
The two boys would once again make their way to Dilan where they would run in to some very unfortunate events. Lea is met with Xemnas, who unlocked Lea’s heart and created a heartless and a nobody. He would come to name the nobody axel and he would continue to serve Xemnas in the organisation.

Axel:[break]Axel didn’t do much but go on missions like most of the other organisation members until he was placed in charge of Roxas who he would become quite good friends with. They began to make a habit out of going to the top of a tower after every mission and eat sea salt ice cream (just like himself and Isa). Him and Roxas promised each other that they would always be there for each other no matter what.

He soon found himself on a mission in castle oblivion to try and rid the organisation of the traitors that were using Namine. It is during this time that he is ordered by Marluxia to kill Vexen, and he does so swiftly and without hesitation. He does this to get in with the traitors and gain their trust (at least that is what is thought). He would eventually double cross the traitors and free Namine and allowing her to contact Sora.
He then continues his killing streak by offering the Riku replica power if he kills Zexion.
After returning to the castle of Oblivion, Axel finds that Roxas had made friends with a new girl in the organisation Xion who Axel would soon find out the identity of and hide that information from Roxas. With these secrets being kept from his ‘best friend’ a drift happened between Axel and Roxas and they finally split after finding Xion after she had run away to ‘find herself’.

Axel assists Roxas in awakening Sora and continues to assist Sora throughout his fight again Xemnas. He had promised Riku that he would take care of Namine. Axel has many off putting conversations with Xemnas about his disappearance, saying that due to contact with Sora’s heart it could have affected his ability to feel emotions.
Axel also talks with Roxas about the promise he made to him and Xion about always being there to bring them back no matter how many times they went away.

He soon sacrifices himself and awakes as Lea once again after the defeat of his heartless and nobody.

He assists Sora in fighting Master Xehanort and later reveals to Sora and Master Yen Sid that he could wield a keyblade.[break][break]
