Weapons: Mages would be limited to light-weight weapons. Staves, rods, daggers, bow-and-arrows. Certain handguns may even qualify, though anything like a rifle or a shotgun wouldn't work.

In terms of magic, well, they're mages! They can learn pretty much anything. There is no limit to the number of Ultimate-level spells they can learn.

They are limited on their abilities, though. Mages can only learn the most basic-level abilities (guard, fire strike, etc.), and even with that they can only learn up to 5 abilities. Their talent lies in magic, not in fighting.
