The Fairy Tale
[break]
[break]
Kairi was once a resident at Radiant Gardens who lived with her grandmother. Through a series of events she found herself at Destiny Islands at the age of seven, and remained there ever since. It was there she encountered two unusual yet interesting boys: Sora and Riku. They were best friends and she felt that her presence marked an intrusion on their duo. Soon enough they welcomed her to their happy duo and became a trio. They all became fast friends and she unwittingly contributed to their competition for her affection. She believed boys were just silly boys and up to silly things, but it was a little deeper than that.
[break]
[break]
She cared for them both. However, she felt herself drawn to Sora more. She couldn't explain why or how, but it felt...nice. They began to ask where she came from, but Kairi couldn't reply with an answer because she couldn't remember. That caused them to want to know and explore more then what Destiny Island had to offer, so she agreed to build a raft to sail off into the unknown.
[break]
[break]
That plan didn't go quite as expected.
[break]
[break]
Heartless attacked the island and Kairi grew ill as a result. Sora was the first to find her and before she was taken she gave her heart to him, unwittingly of course. This led to a series of events for her rescue. Sora ventured through different worlds to find her and Riku. Riku, on the other hand, gave himself into the darkness but under the guise of helping to rescue her and finding Sora. Riku found her first, but in a comatose state. Tricked into believing he alone could locate her heart, he endeavored to gain it back.
[break]
[break]
This caused a devastating divide between Sora and Riku. Even though she was in her comatose state, she saw what was happening between the two due to her heart residing within Sora. Sora soon found her and the two got into it. After more fighting between more people, Sora made the ultimate sacrifice and turned himself into a Shadow Heartless in order to save her.
[break]
[break]
That nearly broke her in two.
[break]
[break]
She was revived but immediately rushed to Sora, but he vanished. The roles seemed to reverse for she was more than willing to save him. Through various battles and a sheer amount of willpower, she brought him back to his old self. She returned back to Destiny Islands, but without her two friends. Sora promised to bring Riku back and with that they departed.
[break]
[break]
As time passed, memories of Sora began to fade away. She didn't know why, but she knew that something was missing as she continued her normal life on the island. She sent a letter in a bottle to the mysterious boy and grew tired of waiting for...something to come. She went on a search Riku and Sora as she recalled his name. She was kidnapped but later released by her Nobody, Namine. The girl knew there was something familiar about Namine, but couldn't quite place it.
[break]
[break]
The two of them were reunited with Riku and Sora, and Namine returned back into her body while Roxas returned withing Sora. Later on, Sora and Riku left to fix the sleeping worlds while Kairi concentrated on her keyblade skills...

The...Dream?
[break]
[break]
After her parents died, Kairi and her twin sister were moved from Radiant Gardens to Destiny Island to live with their uncle. They were researchers and Kairi was forever curious of their death. she was sick and didn't dwell on it too often, but concentrated on keeping her younger twin socialized and happy.
[break]
[break]
Upon arriving at the island, she was met with two curious boys: Sora and Riku. She grew fond of them as if they were the brothers she's never had. However, that soon grew into confused feelings between the two of them. She kept it to herself as she hung out with them, however. Even though she believed she may have been intruding, their duo soon formed into an unbreakable trio--or so she thought.
[break]
[break]
Kairi tried to include Namine in their group--partly to help her out of her shell and the other part due to having a girl around the boys for a change. Namine tried, but she ultimately decided to stick with her art. Kairi couldn't blame her and left her to it. Whenever she did hang out with her sister, it was through right. They would even create stories with Kairi as the author and Namine as the illustrator. It was then did she find her true connection with her sister and their bond increased.
[break]
[break]
She found herself growing even closer with Namine as both Riku and Sora moved away. She was a little heart broken as he close friends moved from Destiny Islands, but it was soon healed as Namine was there to comfort her. Kairi still tries to reach out to them, but even though she hears from Sora every now and then, Riku is nearly absent.
