the cracks in our memories can't change the bonds in our hearts
Welcome
to Simple and Clean, an au post-3D Kingdom Hearts roleplay.
After Xehanort removed the chains of memories linked not to people, but to objects and events - the keyblade, the Princesses of Heart, and Kingdom Hearts itself - the heroes found themselves living in a world where they are... ordinary. Where they are highschool and college students, parents or siblings, and living in a world not too far removed from our own.
Casting his spell cost Xehanort strength and time, but he's begun to move - and not everyone had their memories pulled. How will the worlds react to the return of the darkness when the light doesn't know to stand against it?
Events
Xehanort's awakening is at hand, and with it has come the beginning of the destruction of his spell.
Updates
10/08/17 First major site event has begun! Xehanort has awoken and he's hellbent on ensuring his plans will not be interfered with. A halloween writing contest has started as well, so be sure to check them both out.
His footsteps were silent, despite the fact that the alleyway was empty and even the raindrops were causing a light 'pitter patter' to echo. There should have been a thrumming noise from the rain falling on his black coat but, upon closer inspection, it was clear that there was a thin layer of air between him and the rain, creating a mist that gave the appearance of rain connecting. The man was standing in the midst of a downpour but he was completely dry.
He wasn't sure if the same could be said for his companion.
A pale brow was arched, lips curved into a cruel smile. "Poor little reaper, lost out in the rain. I'm sure getting your wings wet must be quite the unpleasant experience for you." A laugh, a step towards him, and the jovial expression melted so quickly into one of rage as his hand stretched forward, dark energy seeming to caress along the sides of the other before lightly wrapping around his throat. The reaper's breathing wasn't constricted, but the threat was clearly there.
"If I have known about what troublesome assholes angels and reapers were, I would never have decided to include Shibuya into this little experiment of mine." It was difficult to continue to play the proper role of puppet master when there were others who felt they had the right to pull the strings over who got to live and die.
Kay stared at the black man walking towards him in the rain. He was strange, the cloak on his back made his face heavily concealed and you could barely make out the expression on his face. The man moved closer and kay stood his ground, not sure as to what was about to happen, but he wasn’t afraid. He hadn’t been scared in a long time and it wasn’t going to begin now.
"Poor little reaper, lost out in the rain. I'm sure getting your wings wet must be quite the unpleasant experience for you."
The words rang in Kay’s ears. He knew this guy wasn’t a reaper, he would have known about him. Kay said nothing, continuing to study the man, not making any expression on his face what so ever. He didn’t know what the man was going to do next, nor did have any care. Kay’s only intention is to see what he is dealing with, it had to be powerful to know about him.
As the man drew closer, Kay's body sat still and calm, not making any sign of fright. His eyes were staring into the darkness of the hood, trying to see what was hidden far underneath. As the man drew closer he began to draw closer, he began to make out features of the man’s face. He could see the man’s jaw being to be drawn, and the light was beginning to hit his nose and mouth. There was nothing else seen, even with the man standing right in front of him. There was so little light, that anything else was impossible to make out. Still, Kay sat calmly.
The man reached his hands around Kay’s throat, but Kay did not threat. He just knew that a man like this still had something else to say. The grip around Kay’s neck was harsh but didn’t constrict his breathing in any way. He would be rougher in bed than this guy was with him. It wasn’t long until Kay’s theory was proven correct and the man spoke.
"If I have known about what troublesome assholes angels and reapers were, I would never have decided to include Shibuya into this little experiment of mine."
Well, at least he wasn’t wrong with his quote. Reapers were troublesome assholes and Kay was proud of it. He could see the man slip on his word and seemed to be finding it hard to continue. Kay couldn’t help but let out a huge burst of laughter. He tilted his head forward as much as he could with the man’s grip still on him.
“Your right we really are assholes.” Kay said in a smart-ass voice. He completely ignored the things that the man had said afterwards as Kay didn’t feel as if it had any concern to him. He wanted to play this guy and see what he was playing at, try to test his grounds in a way.
Xehanort just smiled, the expression reminisce of the grin of an approaching shark. The reaper was laughing, clearly gaining a great amount of enjoyment from this situation-- and Xehanort was certain he would continue to laugh until he couldn't. Until the dark tendrils closed tight around his throat, cutting off his air and suffocating him.
One gloved hand slowly curled into a fist, squeezing as the tendrils tightened in response.
"You are... an inconvenience. This world is an inconvenience. Angels and reapers, you serve no purpose to my plans, and you'll have no place in the World once I remake it." If anything, the angels represented a threat to his plans. Holding the power to judge worlds and to determine their creation and destruction was something that Xehanort could only dream of. With the power of Kingdom Hearts truly in his grasp, he would be able to mold all the worlds, all of them, into one. He would be able to remake a new World. But, before that...
Reapers, on the other hand, were just a laughable mockery of heartless and nobodies. They were little more than humanity's vain desire to continue to cling to life even after death. Part of him could admire such tenacity, but it was a useless effort. All there was, and all there would be in the end, was Darkness.
"Tell me, little reaper, why I shouldn't tear your wings off like the fly you are and leave you to drown pinned down in the rain?"
