Leon grew up in Radiant Garden and was friends with Yuffie, Aerith, and Cloud. Cid watched out for them. His parents were killed when he was very young due to Heartless and when the world was destroyed he fled with Cid, Yuffie and Aerith. They thought Cloud had disappeared with the world and he was sad to have lost a friend. He spent over 10 years in Traverse Town watching out for his new family of sorts. Yuffie, Aerith and Cid. They protected the town not wanting it to end up like their old home and the town soon saw them as their protectors and heroes.

During the next 10 years they met King Mickey, Donald and Goofy who visited Traverse Town often. It was a world where people came to after their world was destroyed. Some by gummi ships and others by sheer force of will. Leon became good friends with the trio and offered them refuge. Mickey said his world was safe but wouldn't go into details not wanting others to learn about it and Leon accepted that. One day Donald and Goofy came to town and Aerith found them wandering around town. Leon fought Sora after seeing the Keyblade. Sora defeated him and Leon and Yuffie brought him to the hotel. Leon and Yuffie explained to Sora what happened but Heartless attacked causing the group to separate. After Sora, Donald and Goofy met up and defeated the Heartless Leon and Yuffie told him to go on the ship and go to other worlds and he might find Sora's missing friends Kairi and Riku.

Leon continued to help Sora in his adventures giving him a gem that later Fairy Godmother changed so Sora could summon Simba to help him in fights. Leon stayed in Traverse Town with the others until Sora, Donald and Goofy fled Hollow Bastion with Kairi. Leon learned of the events of what happened there. Sora briefly becoming a Heartless, and Riku being taken over by Ansem, and Maleficent's defeat. Leon was glad Maleficent was finally gone but that didn't solve their problems. He went back with Aerith and Yuffie in their own gummi ship following Sora's group leaving behind Cid and Kairi in Traverse Town for their safety. They helped Sora giving him items and information before he sealed the keyh9ole to Hollow Bastion and eventually defeated Ansem and sealing the door to Kingdom Hearts. He reunited with Cloud and Cid who returned to Hallow Bastion after peace was restored to the worlds.

A year went by as Leon forgot Sora, Donald, and Goofy but suddenly they all remembered. And a few days later Sora, Donald and Goofy showed up in Hollow Bastion. Leon told him of the data in Ansem's computer and along with his friends. He fought to keep the world safe with friends new and old fighting off Heartless and Nobodies. He helped Sora get ot the data and was shocked as they were sucked inside. But they were able to escape with help from Tron and learned the password. After Sora, Donald, Goofy and Tron defeated the MCP and Sark Leon was able to access the data. They weren't able to get much information about what they wanted as it seemed to be messed up. But later they were able to read it. Leon fought alongside Cloud during the battle against Nobodies and Heartless.

After Sora, Donald and Goofy brought peace to the worlds again by defeating the Organization Leon remained in Hollow Bastion or as it used to be known Radiant Garden. And there he stayed until Xenhaort wiped everyone's memories and combined Twilight Town, Destiny Islands, Shibuya and The Radiant Gardens into one world. Leon's memories were wiped and he gained a new history. Of how he was training to be a soldier there but things changed after a one night stand with Aerith. Or more precisely nine months later when she returned with his son and gave it to him before disappearing. He named his son Sora. With his dreams of a soldier dashed he moved to Destiny Islands as it would a be a safer place teo raise his son. He asked Yuffie to come with him and she agreed.

Having been an orphan in this altered memories as well he was a bit overprotective of Yuffie, who he saw as a little sister, and his son Sora. But things were about to change as he soon learned of Sora's two half brothers and Aerith had been married to another man at the time. he'd become "the other man" which had led to the family divorcing and the mom leaving her other kids. Which made him disappointed and angry that Aerith kept abandoning her kids. He moved with Sora and Yuffie to Twilight Town so Sora could be closer to his two half brothers and stepfather. He agreed to let Ven and Roxas see Sora but it was awkward as he didn't know what to do. They already had a father and he wasn't anything to them. He did decide he wanted to make plans with Cloud to leave Sora's custlody in his will to him. To make Cloud the godfather/future guardian of Sora. He wanted to prepare in case anything happened to him in the next year. He doubted anything would but he wanted his son to be with his brothers and stepfather and not with the mother who'd abandoned him.

However things would begin to change as Xenhaort began forming his plans and people like Data Roxas began finding their way to the group in Twilight Town, Destiny Islands, Shibuya and Radiant Garden. Sooner or later memories might return or enemies from the past that they couldn't remember. Life was about to get more dangerous than Leon ever thought it would get in these islands.
