to Simple and Clean, an au post-3D Kingdom Hearts roleplay.
After Xehanort removed the chains of memories linked not to people, but to objects and events - the keyblade, the Princesses of Heart, and Kingdom Hearts itself - the heroes found themselves living in a world where they are... ordinary. Where they are highschool and college students, parents or siblings, and living in a world not too far removed from our own.
Casting his spell cost Xehanort strength and time, but he's begun to move - and not everyone had their memories pulled. How will the worlds react to the return of the darkness when the light doesn't know to stand against it?

10/08/17 First major site event has begun! Xehanort has awoken and he's hellbent on ensuring his plans will not be interfered with. A halloween writing contest has started as well, so be sure to check them both out.
Lea listened as the question began pouring out of Ventus’s mouth. This was exactly what he didn’t want to happen, but he got ahead of himself. He listened not saying anything as the questions continued to come out of Ventus’s mouth. He was beginning to wonder if he was ever going to stop? But finally, he closed his mouth and began to ponder a bit and Lea had decided with himself to stay quiet and let the boy think, hoping he would change topic.
Lea wanted to answer all the questions, he really did. He just didn’t believe that it was exactly his place to answer them. He was ‘just a friend’ after-all, and Riku was the kind of guy to be kind of ticked off about anything Lea did. So, this would almost certainly add to that long list.
The boy said that his brother had a friend named lea? Could it have been that Terra name he was calling out before? Maybe that was how he knew him, not that he could remember ever knowing a Terra in his life. Lea tried to play along, and see if Ventus’s could have had anymore brothers that could ring a bell in Lea’s mind.
“Oh, what’s his name?” Lea asked, tilting his head to the side.

Ventus currently lives in Twilight Town with Aqua and Terra. As far as he can remember, he suffered from a mental breakdown when he was 13 that resulted in his stopping speaking, and it caused him to be taken away from his family.

I feel like this life I'm living... wasn't meant to be mine.
And here was the awkward moment where Ventus was going to be forced to explain that haha, his brother, but not the brother that they were looking for. Ventus never even really thought twice when he refered to Terra and Aqua as his siblings. And that was... kind of a problem, wasn't it. That they were his siblings, but he had to really pause and think about it when he meant his actual brother.
His twin.
"His name is Roxas..." And a slight trail in his tone as Ventus furrowed his brows, frowning at Lea. "He's my twin-- but, wait. What about the girl that you're looking for? You can't just change the topic like that Lea." Or rather it was more like ignore the topic in this situation, but the point still stood.

Wait Roxas had a twin? Lea was quite shocked by the news as he turned his head ignoring that last part of Ventus’s sentence. Why had Roxas never mentioned a twin that just happened to look almost identically like him? Why did Lea feel as if he already knew him? Did Roxas even know his twin that well?
All these questions filled Lea’s head like a flood. He opened his mouth as if he was going to speak but pulled himself back. He had a habit of doing this by now. He then went to speak again quite obviously changing the topic once again.
“Roxas has a twin!?!”

Blue eyes went wide as Ventus took a step back. It wasn't hard to figure out that Lea must have known Roxas from the way the other responded. He-- He must have been the Lea that Roxas had been talking about.

Roxas wasn't really a complicated creature. He might have thought he was, or thought he was a mystery individual, but he wore his feelings rather prominently on his sleeves. Ventus had picked up on his twin's unhappiness everytime he had mentioned Aqua and Terra, and the way that Lea had been brought up almost as a defense mechanism in response. If he knew that Ventus now knew his friend-
And, even worse, might have been flirting with him-
"I-" The word came out stuttered and aborted as Ventus took a step back. "I- Gotta go-"

Lea saw the sudden realization in the boy’s face, and it didn’t look good. Lea wasn’t exactly sure why the boy had reacted this way but withheld himself from saying anything. If he had already done this, he didn’t want to make it any worse than what it already was. All Lea realized that something was happening between him and Roxas, especially for Roxas not to mention him yet. So, as the nobleman Lea was, he tried to lay off a little relaxing.
Then the boy took a step back before muttering those words that he should have expected to hear. He didn’t want to leave just yet, they had only just met after all. Lea’s small smirk was turned almost immediately turned upside down, completing the confused look on his face.
Deciding it was best not to ask any more than what he already had, he put on a smile and waved. He looked the boy in the eyes before finally speaking. “Hopefully I can see you again sometime?” before walking off and leaving the boy to meet up with his… Brother and sister?
Wait…
Were they also related to Roxas?
