the cracks in our memories can't change the bonds in our hearts
Welcome
to Simple and Clean, an au post-3D Kingdom Hearts roleplay.
After Xehanort removed the chains of memories linked not to people, but to objects and events - the keyblade, the Princesses of Heart, and Kingdom Hearts itself - the heroes found themselves living in a world where they are... ordinary. Where they are highschool and college students, parents or siblings, and living in a world not too far removed from our own.
Casting his spell cost Xehanort strength and time, but he's begun to move - and not everyone had their memories pulled. How will the worlds react to the return of the darkness when the light doesn't know to stand against it?
Events
Xehanort's awakening is at hand, and with it has come the beginning of the destruction of his spell.
Updates
10/08/17 First major site event has begun! Xehanort has awoken and he's hellbent on ensuring his plans will not be interfered with. A halloween writing contest has started as well, so be sure to check them both out.

Zola nodded.
"I can wield keyblades myself but I'm a being of data. And there's probably only so much I can do by myself. For awhile Sora thought he was the only Keybalder. Now there's Sora, Riku, Xion, Roxas, Ven, Aqua, Terra, Eraquas, Lea, and myself. That's at least 10 Keyblader Wielders. And maybe others will be called. Legends say there were hundreds or thousands once that started the Keyblade War. But not much is known about that war." said Zola.
Zola nodded.
"The problem is heartless are not only drawn to hearts but the Keyblades. I summoned mine to try to jog Riku's memory and that didn't work. But if one of the others summon theirs they may draw Heartless and Nobodies. This is just taking longer than I thought. Sometimes I wish I knew how this worked. Like if I have powers over memories I don't know them. So I have to do this the old-fashioned way." said Zola.

Even er I must end my life to save my world, t'would be a sacrifice I know would not be in vain.
Y'shtola canted her head to the side curiously as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Why would you believe you were to have any ability over memories in the first place? Is there something about your origin that would lend you to have such an ability?" Considering the nature of the challenge that had been laid out before them (well, laid out before him and now something that she had apparently volunteered to help with), the ability to awaken suppressed memories was something they couldn't afford to not have.
"I have magic but I must admit it doesn't affect memory. I can try to look to see if such spells exist and I'm sure they do, but the chains that I saw were entwined so tightly with their hearts. An unrefined spell would be akin to breaking a lock open with a hammer. Effective but you would shatter it. We would need something more like a lockpick. Gentle. Delicate." And a slight tilt of her head towards the other.
"Is there any way you could try to... practice on me?" She had no locked memories but that didn't mean that the application shouldn't be the same. At least... in theory.

Zola paused and shook his head.
"I'm not sure if I would or not. But a character in the journal I was based on was. Namine. I guess it'd be too much to hope for that I'd get powers from other characters in the journal." said Zola.
Zola nodded.
"You might have better luck researching this than I would. I'm probably already a sitting duck. The Heartless know I'm here and Xenahort may not be far behind. We may not have the time. If a spell doesn't work then we need to find a way to do it ourselves." said Zola.
Zola shrugged.
"I wouldn't know how to tap into abilities that are either dormant or that I'm unaware of. I would need to figure out how to use them before I could try them out." said Zola.
He paused.
"Maybe you could learn for spells to unlock people's potential or hidden or secret abilities. May help both of us and others in the future." said Zola.

She couldn't help the slight frown that graced her lips in response to his utter refusal to even attempt to try on her. Y'shtola fully understood that attempting the unknown was a scary thing, and it was made even moreso when you couldn't be sure of what the results of such an attempt would be, but... to refuse to do so and to dance around the very idea felt even worse.
"I'll do my best." And she would, though Y'shtola already knew that magic had its limits, and the memory rarely was within its grasp. Not... in the way that it would be needed in this situation.
Y'shtola tapped the butt of Truth Seeker against the floor as a thought occurred to her. "Even ere I should meet another, or should you need my aid, how should we come into contact with one another?" On her world they made use of linkpearls, objections that allowed for long range communication, but she didn't have any with her and she wasn't sure if the magic would hold up on a different world.

Zola grinned.
"Good. That's all I can ask for." said Zola.
He paused as she mentioned communication.
"I have a cell phone. Well someone gave me one. Perhaps we could get one for you as well. It's how people communicate here." said Zola.
He paused with a frown.
"On second thought data transmissions might not be a good idea in a simulated world like this. Xenahort or someone else might be able to hack it. Maybe we should just arrange meeting spots where we leave notes. Like under some bushes. Or dig a hole and place a note in a bottle or something." said Zola.

"A... A cell... phone?" Neither one of those words were familiar to her. At least, not in that context. Cell, certainly, but really only when referring to the idea of a jailer's cell. Contextual clues made it fairly easy for Y'shtola to guess that wasn't what Zola had meant, but it still left her fairly perplexed.
As much as she hated to admit it, Y'shtola found herself shaking her head. "I feel perhaps just meeting here again in a few days time might be best. The level of technology that we both are used to clearly differs. What you are speaking of seems to be... beyond my experience." A light shade of pink dusted her cheeks before she coughed lightly.
"It would be best if we avoided that, ere we caused avoided mishaps due to... my own misunderstanding."

Zola nodded.
"It's a way they communicate here. I wasn't sure what they were at first but I've gotten used to it." said Zola.
He paused and nodded.
"Perhaps you're right. Maybe we should meet at a certain time like early morning or at night. When the least amount of people are around. That way less chances of someone spotting us and wondering why we keep going into the tunnels. I guess if necessary we can always meet in another spot." said Zola.
He paused with a grin.
"Perhaps we should gain maps of the four major towns in the area. Destiny Islands, Shibuya, Twilight Townmm and Radiant Garden. And pick the best places to meet. The people we need to free are scattered between all four towns making it even harder to wake them up. Others could be easier to wake up and others could take some time." said Zola.
He nodded.
"Next time I'll try to have a list of people who are affected so we can focus on them. I don't know if the rest of the people in these towns are also people who were brought here or just bits of data like myself. But we need to focus on the keyblader wielders and their friends." said Zola.
