the cracks in our memories can't change the bonds in our hearts
Welcome
to Simple and Clean, an au post-3D Kingdom Hearts roleplay.
After Xehanort removed the chains of memories linked not to people, but to objects and events - the keyblade, the Princesses of Heart, and Kingdom Hearts itself - the heroes found themselves living in a world where they are... ordinary. Where they are highschool and college students, parents or siblings, and living in a world not too far removed from our own.
Casting his spell cost Xehanort strength and time, but he's begun to move - and not everyone had their memories pulled. How will the worlds react to the return of the darkness when the light doesn't know to stand against it?
Events
Xehanort's awakening is at hand, and with it has come the beginning of the destruction of his spell.
Updates
10/08/17 First major site event has begun! Xehanort has awoken and he's hellbent on ensuring his plans will not be interfered with. A halloween writing contest has started as well, so be sure to check them both out.
The portal was in the back office of his store, tucked away in a spot that no one else aside from Leon was ever meant to have access. It was a curious little thing that he had to've passed by countless times before and just glossed over, his mind manageing to chalk up the strange appearance and off colorization to just tricks of the light and his own tiredness, but just this once he happened to brush by it. Just this once he felt the strange, cool numbness.
Reaching through, he would feel... strangely warm. And... fuzzy.
There would be a lurching sensation, something that would jerk him forward. It would feel as if he was falling to his hands and knees, only he would catch himself by the fact that he no longer really had hands. His body has shifted, arms and back elongating, hair growing into thick fur along his whole body--
And instead of being a man, Leon would be a jackal. Suddenly non-human, in a grassy field that was a far cry from the building he had been in before.

Leon had been heading for home. He'd closed up shop and send the staff home. He wondered what Sora was up to. He reached for his cell phone intending to call Sora when he hearad a crash. He ran to the side of the house and was in shock to see what looked like a black hole hovering in mid air. But he'd been running to fast to stop in time.
"What is that thing?" asked Leon.
He braced himself for impact as he went through the portal. Then everything went black as he was knocked out.

Leon groaned as he got up seeing a river nearby. He had no idea where he was or how he'd survived that thing. He tried to scoop up some water only to be shocked as his hands were red paws. He blinked glancing at his body and at his reflection in the river as he was some kind of red animal.
"I've been turned into an animal? What am I? A fox?" asked Leon.
He didn't know how this happened but he had to reverse it before he could go back. Animals didn't have custody of human children. He frowned hoping Sora would be okay without him for awhile. He just had to figure out where he was and how to change him back. Then there was the other option of this just all being a dream. And how he wished it was. He was still thirsty though so reluctantly start lapping it up with his tongue.

Even er I must end my life to save my world, t'would be a sacrifice I know would not be in vain.
Leon hadn't been expecting to be brought to another world, but Y'shtola had been a bit more prepared for the change. The cat-eared woman had been actively hunting out such tears in the hopes of finding cracks and flaws in the fake world that had been stitched together, and apparently she had been successful. The fact that she had to slip into the back of someone's business didn't even cause her to bat an eye; if they caught her, she had no doubts she would be able to defend herself.
She slipped through, the icy numbness a familiar sensation. What wasn't entirely familiar was landing on all fours, or being covered in fur. Ears flicked back and her tail flicked as Y'shtola did her best to try to look at herself. White fur as far as she could see... was she a cat? A large cat? She whuffed at herself curiously, nose twitching slightly. Curious...
The mage had heard of worlds like this, the ones that shifted the forms of those who visited them, but she had never thought she would experience one for herself.
Her scent of smell was vastly improved, making up for her blindness. Walking felt awkward, though she was at least used to the feeling of a tail helping her balance already, allowing for her to acclimate faster than it might take for others. It was fascinating, really... though why on earth would this place even be a world that Xehanort cared about in the first place?
A thought that was put on the back burner when she caught sight of one of them; one of the heart-bound victims of Xehanort's spell.
"... Hello?" The sound of her voice had her blinking, head shaking slightly in surprise. Y'shtola hadn't been sure what she was expecting but that... was it, actually. Growls and roars, but not her actual voice. Was... she actually speaking? Or was it magic that was allowing her to sound like she was? Either way, was he an actual inhabitant of this world, or someone from Utopia who had simply stumbled onto this one?

Leon paused looking up hearing a voice.
"Hello. This is one weird dream." said Leon.
He walked up to the cat.
"I didn't expect to be able to talk to other animals but I guess things rarely make sense in dreams." said Leon.
He just decided this was a dream. Strange black holes didn't just appear out of nowhere and you didn't fall in and get turned into animals. That only happened in movies and books. This was clearly a dream.
