He was sitting at the kitchen table, arms resting on the rickety wooden back of a chair with his cheek resting against them as he watched his sister. She was cooking, probably dinner for both himself and Terra, and while part of him felt a small twinge of guilt over simply sitting there instead of helping Ventus found he couldn't bring himself to volunteer to help. It was easier to just sit there and watch.
As the toe of one shoe idly scrapped against the kitchen floor, he let his gaze shift from her back to just travel aimlessly through the small room. How many years had he been here...? Had they been here? There should have been more memories held in this room, more memories of this family that had been haphazardly thrown together, and yet every day Ventus felt like he was watching up in a place he had never been before. Aqua and Terra were the only familiarities in an otherwise foreign place.
"Hey, Aqua..." His voice was soft and sounded rusty at first, and Ven had to take a moment to swallow to try to ready himself to talk. "Do you ever feel like you just... don't belong anywhere?"
